Tips for concrete quotes that win the job
- Quote concrete by volume (m³) and say the thickness. It lets the client see the price is fair.
- Exclude unknown ground: soft spots, roots, or services found while digging.
- State the finish and cure time, so the client knows when they can drive on it.

Work on the council verge or crossover usually needs council approval. Say on the quote who is applying.

Example job description
Pour a 6m x 3m exposed aggregate driveway extension, 100mm thick, Logan. Excavate and remove soil, formwork, reinforcing mesh, saw cuts. About 3 days.
The more you say (size, location, who supplies what, how long it takes), the better the draft. Anything you leave out goes into the assumptions, so the customer can see it.

- Is a quote a fixed price?
- A quote is generally a fixed price for the work it describes, while an estimate is your best guess. If the job changes, agree the variation in writing. This is why Sorted Quote lists assumptions and exclusions on every quote.
- Do I have to charge GST?
- You must register for GST once your turnover is $75,000 or more. If you are registered, quotes to consumers should show the total price including GST. Untick "GST registered" if you aren't.
